Why should NGOs use social media?

Why should NGOs use social media? Social media is one of the best ways to start connecting to people as social itself means “people” and we need people to begin for any NGO to work. Through social media, we can connect to our audience (be it, partners or donors). Social media creates a relationship between the donors and the NGO, unlike the website which acts as a notice board or journal. Social media helps in creating connections between the donor and getting feedback along with contributions for the causes too in terms of money and volunteers. As social media has become an integral part of the daily lives of all human beings, NGOs should not miss the chance to use them too for the causes and to raise funds. Important reasons for NGOs to be on Facebook Social media has occupied the majority of our lives today and especially after the pandemic, people’s life has become virtual and almost all activities happen online including connecting with family and friends to transacting fo...

How to Raise Funds for an NGO online?

How to start Online Fundraising in India for your NGO? It’s a big question when it comes to raising funds online for charity causes or NGOs. Being in the industry for 3 years now, I have some tips to give out for the ones who belong to the industry of online fundraising for charity. Many people from the smaller NGOs look at my profile and call me or come to meet me to know what are my tactics or ideas/approach to raising funds from online channels especially in India. We all know the Indian mentality differs from place to place, culture to culture when it comes to charity giving. Though we all know “Charity begins at home”, we teach often to our children in the day-to-day life and the schools too try to inculcate this habit to children by promoting HelpAge India for example along with many others (guess, you all know what I am talking about as each one of us has done this). This piece is written keeping in mind the small-time NGOs (the local NGOs) who want to do fundraising throu...

My journey in the world of Advertising – Traditional to Digital

‘Adworld is Madworld’ – this is what I had heard as a child. And above I had heard people talk that the ones who are in the advertising world are not the people with morale. So advertising for me was not by choice it was by chance. I started my journey when I was barely 18 years and just out of my 12 th . Fate brought me to this field and I continued to pursue this as I got literally addicted and passionate about the industry. Actually I wanted to be a doctor and I bet each one of us as a child either want to be a doctor, teacher or an engineer. This idea is instilled within us from the day we are born. My Journey - Traditional to Digital Advertising But destiny plays. So here I am almost 15 years in the advertising industry and still going. Many a times I too have felt that I may not belong here because of the culture that is in the advertising industry but has enjoyed my journey all along. Traditional or Conventional advertising was ruling until few years...

And, here we go.... Post our briefing session from Mr.Paul of Kings Kafe, we did a lot of brainstorming with our mentor Mr.Suresh Babu and Ms. Manasi. Through this we came up with a Strategy & Proposal so as to list down the objectives & goals, Challenges & opportunities, Strategies and Steps to get footfalls to the restaurant through Digital Media, mainly Social media. Then came the content calendar for the social media; we had to break our heads as how to divide the content for each day and schedule events for the coming 3 months as our plan was a short term to start with. We took this to Paul and had a discussion with him and got a positive response. So now how to execute this plan, was the question....

"Content is the reason search began in the first place" - Lee Odden Digital Marketing plays a very vital role in today's Marketing world. Friends, am very happy today as I have been showcased as the 'Digital Marketer of the Week' at WMA this week. This has happened again because of the guidance and pushing by Mr. Suresh Babu, CEO of Web Marketing Academy, my Trainers @ WMA and finally my batch-mates. I also would like to thank Manasi , Manjunath & Bharani for making this happen. I also learnt 'How to do pod-casting?', during this process. Thank you all @WMA for helping me to learn and achieve so many things in this short duration. Our first live project for 3Kings Kafe & Kitchen...at Web Marketing Academy

Hurrah...we have bagged our first project though we still are in the midst of our training at Web Marketing Academy. Isn't that awesome and wonderful!  Suresh was kind enough to handover this project to us and mostly to trust us for this. It's for a start-up cafe/restaurant on the Outer Ring Road of Marathahalli. We are also so keen and enthusiastic to work on this project. Each one of us want to contribute and make this a success story. So we have all started on some research as of now with Ms. Manasi leading and guiding us on this project. It has started good and a long way to go. It's not easy though, but we have to prove it. It's our goal as of now to ensure that the restaurant get's the maximum visibility in the vicinity and also gets high footfalls. So wishing us all success :)

I always wondered whether SEO was a difficult one and how is SEO done for a website?

Search Engine Optimization or SEO looked like impossible and a word/phrase which was like it came from a different world altogether. I always thought it was too difficult a job to do an SEO for any website and never wanted to even try that as it sounded as though it had got lot of technicalities, like meta keywords, tags, and so on. These fears were only until I attended Suresh's class on SEO this week. After that it's like me saying, is that all..."OMG, I CAN DO IT"; am so very confident now and ready to take up SEO for any given website. Suresh (WMA) made it look so simple with few techniques & the guidelines which he explained that one should & must follow. With just a few simple steps, you are ranking your website on top of the Search Engines; that's wonderful, isn't it? He made us practice at length until we got the real gist of it; he was not even willing to go ahead with the class until we proved him that we got what he thought. And this...

Web Marketing Academy Reviews

Guys, as I mentioned earlier that I have joined the Digital Marketing Training program at Web Marketing Academy #WMA on the 2nd of Feb 2015. I want to share my experiences in the class with you all. So here I am... We have completed our classes on Website building and Search Engine Marketing (Google Adwords). The faculties at #WMA are really amazing, they are so down to earth and speak in a very simple language so that we understand each and every word thought in the class easily. No jargons or technicalities..and it's plain English. Suresh, Somesh and Aditya have helped me in learning to build a wordpress website easily. And I was amazed when I saw my website almost ready with help and guidance from these guys. I didn't know it was so simple to build or create a website until I was there in #WMA. All the while I thought it is only the guys who have HTML knowledge could do it and you have to be a graphic or website designer too. So, here I was proven wrong and that...

Social Media Week #SMWBangalore

Social Media Week Bangalore (Feb 23rd to 27th 2015) Being a part of Web Marketing Academy, we were recommended and asked to attend the Social Media Week events which happened across different venues around Indiranagar, Bangalore between 23rd and 27th Feb. Me and my batch-mates attended quite a few sessions on 3 days and felt these were quite helpful if you have to become a digital marketeer. We benefited by knowing quite a bit on the industry trends with interactions with some of the digital media agencies. Met quite a few experienced professionals from the industry and was good to hear them speak about the ideas and tips for the freshers. I loved the session on 'How to take your Mobile App to one million downloads' by Mr. Samir Paswani of CouponDunia and 'Social Media & Mobile - Made for each other' by Mr. Himanshu Arora of Socialpanga.com. They gave very valuable inputs and the case studies they presented were really interesting and motivating with lot o...

Following my dream...

Hey Guys, Though I am a blogger for quite sometime now, I was only blogging on recipes and some health and beauty tips, etc. Today, I decided to have my own personal blog to share my views, experiences and ideas.  Why did I decide to have my personal blog now, all of a sudden??? It is purely because I have been motivated by my mentor from #Web Marketing Academy, @Mr. Suresh Babu; who encourages each and everyone of WMA's students to have their own blog. So here I am blogging...not knowing whether I can do it or not; but still want to try it. So the credit goes to Suresh and WMA for sure for making me a proper blogger.
